Need legal help?
In many instances, the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project provides volunteer attorneys for one-on-one representation. Some issues are better handled pro-se, or without an attorney. While going to court without a lawyer beside you may seem daunting, people just like yourself do it and succeed every day. Our office has a wide variety of programs to give you the information and tools to prepare you to successfully deal with these civil law issues. These programs and how to apply for aid through them are described below.

What do our clients have to say about us?
The GDVLP really helped me during a time of struggle. I have been fighting for years to have my record sealed but to no avail. Summer and her staff are very understanding, empathetic and offer great mental and emotional support. Everyone is patient and kind. They always return my emails and answers any questions I have within a timely manner. They all recognized how important having my record sealed was for me, and went above and beyond to help me win my fight. My record was recently sealed. I cried literal tears of joy! I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me.

How to Apply
As it can take some time to arrange for aid and because our programs are only on certain days of the month, it is important that you apply as soon as your legal issue arises. Otherwise, there is a chance that we will not be able to help you in time for any court date or other deadline that you may have.
To apply for any type of aid with our organization simply contact Legal Aid of Western Ohio at 1-888-534-1432. They do all intake and screening for the VLP. If you find it more convenient you can access a guided on-line pre-intake interview at www.LegalAidLine.org.
*Please Note*
WE DO NOT PROVIDE ATTORNEYS IF YOU CALL US DIRECTLY.
ALL CLINICS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY UNLESS YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY INFORMED THAT IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT ONE. THE VLP DOES NOT HANDLE CRIMINAL MATTERS.
